Review:

Sudah tahu kan ini retelling dongeng apa? Beauty and the Beast. Tapi di sini lebih ke anak nerd dan aktor yang baru saja tercoreng namanya karena suatu skandal. Mereka sempat bertemu sebelumnya di ExcelsiCon sebelumnya saat mereka berdua memakai topeng. Jadi, mereka tidak saling kenal saat bertemu lagi di rumah persembunyian si aktor.

Rosie hanya remaja biasa yang baru kehilangan ibunya. Hubungannya dengan sang ayah juga masih kurang bagus akibat kejadian itu. Suatu hari mobilnya berhenti di satu jalan sepi karena ada anjing yang menghalangi. Dia mengikuti si anjing sampai ke sebuah rumah besar yang mewah. Di sana ia bertemu Vance yang sedang bersembunyi dari media. Karena terkejut, tanpa sadar ia menumpahkan air ke koleksi buku-buku berharga di perpustakaan rumah itu. Sang pemilik yang mengizinkan Vance tinggal di sana memberi syarat pada Rosie untuk membereskan perpustakaannya kalau memang dia tidak bisa membayar ganti rugi terhadap koleksi buku langka yang mahal itu.

Jadi, Rosie dan Vance bertemu hampir tiap hari. Tentu saja Vance tidak membantu Rosie menata buku-buku di perpustakaan itu. Bahkan dia tidak mau bersikap ramah pada Rosie apalagi saat dia sadar kalau dia pernah bertemu dengan gadis itu sebelumnya. Tapi sayangnya... rasa tertarik di antara mereka tidak pernah bisa mereka ingkari.

Menurut saya, buku ini tidak sebagus buku sebelumnya. Mungkin karena interaksi Rosie dan Vance tidak terlalu banyak. Lalu saat tiba-tiba mereka dekat, saya merasa seperti tidak ada prosesnya.
