Review:
Agak sulit menemukan genre historical romance yang bahasa penulisnya dan penulisan dialognya cocok dengan saya. Terkadang saya tidak suka dengan karakter-karakternya. Sudah lama saya tidak dibuat suka dengan karakter di buku-buku genre tersebut.
Kebetulan saya dapat rekomendasi seri ini. Ternyata pembawaan ceritanya cukup lucu dan konyol. Saya bahkan penasaran dengan karakter-karakter sampingannya yang pasti muncul di seri selanjutnya.
Victor Bramwell tidak punya gelar dan hanya berharap bisa memiliki karir di dunia militer lagi. Sayangnya, kakinya yang pincang membuatnya tertolak sampai dia bisa mendapatkan rekomendasi dari ayah Susanna yang tinggal di daerah Spindle Cove. Di situlah dia bertemu dengan Susanna dan membuat dirinya bertanya-tanya tentang tujuan hidupnya.
Susanna sendiri cukup menonjol karakternya. Dia berani melawan Victor dan sangat protektif terhadap penduduk di Spindle Cove. Interaksi keduanya cukup menyenangkan untuk diikuti.
