Review:
Sangat sulit untuk membuat cerita perang yang kompleks dan harus diselesaikan dalam tiga buku. Inilah kenapa banyak penulis mengorbankan detail karakter sampingan demi memajukan plot. Fokusnya hanya di Meira dan tiba-tiba Ceridwen pun jadi tokoh penting padahal dia baru muncul di buku kedua. Untungnya, saya cukup suka sama Ceridwen yang punya karakter yang kuat.
Saya selalu menikmati cerita penuh pengkhianatan dan perebutan kekuasaan. Pada dasarnya saya suka politik dan saya selalu menikmati perbincangan antara berbagai pihak penguasa. Tapi Meira terlalu tidak stabil karena dia punya masalah dengan sihirnya sendiri. Bahkan saya tidak bisa memercayai romansanya dengan Mather. Masalahnya, romansa itu cukup dikesampingkan di buku kedua dan tiba-tiba di sini ditonjolkan kembali.
Angra sebagai musuh cukup mengerikan. Dia bisa menguasai pikiran Theron dan bikin hancur mental cowok itu. Tapi saya memiliki ekspektasi dengan dialog penyesalan antara Theron dan Meira. Sayangnya, itu tidak ada. Padahal itu bisa menjadi semacam ketegangan dan juga kompleksitas hubungan keduanya. Namun penulis lebih memilih membuang karakter Theron yang cukup keren di buku pertama dan melupakannya.
Endingnya cukup memuaskan sih. Solusinya bagus. Saya hanya berharap kompleksitas karakter yang lebih rumit.
